Margazhi is given over to worship: kolam at dawn, Thiruppavai in Perumal temples, Thiruvembavai in Shiva temples, and the music season in Chennai. Vaikunta Ekadasi and Arudra Darisanam fall in it. By custom weddings and house-warmings are not held; families settle the match now and hold the wedding in Thai.
